Year-End Appeal Template

If your church doesn’t do a year-end fundraising appeal, you’re leaving money on the table. Other organizations are asking… and asking… and asking some more! They wouldn’t do it if it didn’t work. Network for Good estimates that 29% of online charitable giving happens during the month of December, with a full 11% happening during the final three days of each calendar year.

We’ve developed a template letter that you can customize for your congregation in five minutes or less. Your appeal doesn’t have to be elaborate. For example, you could:

  1. Mail hard copies of the letter in mid-December.

  2. Mention it during your announcements on Sunday December 27th.

  3. Follow up with an email blast on December 30th or 31st.

A well-timed message from the pastor, finance chairperson, or other influential member of your church community can keep the church on peoples’ radars as they plan their year-end gifts. The risk is low, and the potential reward is high. You can do this!
