New Financial Literacy Course

Financial Literacy for all individuals is crucial, but it tends to be even more important for pastors as they are not only responsible for their own financial well-being, but they can also play a significant role in the financial well-being of their church. At the same time, pastors occupy a unique and complex tax environment compared to most professions.  Without clearer guidance,  pastors may unintentionally burden themselves with unnecessary tax liabilities, compliance issues, and unnecessary financial stress.

Through this course, we hope to equip clergy with information to be more effective stewards of their personal finances and the finances of their church. We believe that strengthening pastors’ financial understanding is an important step toward fostering healthier and more sustainable congregations.

Financial Literacy Course for Pastors

“This resource is a financial lifeline for ministers navigating the complexities of clergy income and taxes. When I was entering ordained ministry, I desperately needed something like this.

Now, as a leader in our Annual Conference, working with provisional clergy members, this is a tool I will not only share with them but also walk through alongside them. It is accessible, clear, and thoughtfully designed without being overwhelming.

I am deeply grateful to the Northwest Foundation for this resource and for their ongoing work to help clergy become financially responsible, so that we can focus more fully on the work of changing the world for the better.”
